Our mission is to combine the
love of Christ with the fun of
professional sports. Our motto
was originally "Baseball with
a Purpose" because of our roots in and 19 year
relationship with the St. Louis Baseball
Cardinals. As CFD expanded its reach into
Christian Family Days with the St. Louis Blues
hockey team, the St. Louis Rams football team
and Gateway International Racing, our motto had
to change as well and is now "Sports
with a Purpose". That purpose is sharing the
love of Jesus Christ with the world
and using any and all professional sports venues
to do so.
Our emphasis is placed
on at-risk children. These are kids who have
been abused mentally, physically or sexually
by a "so-called" trusted adult, or
affected by a parent in prison or a child who
is homeless. living in a foster home, or orphanage
and many other unfortunate situations. They
need the hope only Jesus can offer. CFD's chairman,
Judy Boen, says, "We do CFD for the child
who has been abused or neglected or does not
have any bragging rights. We realize since we
are dealing with neglected children, this most
likely will be the only meal they will have
for the day." CFD wants to give them an
experience that changes their lives for eternity.
Not only will the kids have
an unforgettable day at
our event, but they
will hear how much Jesus loves them. Over 60
various organizations are helped through the
tireless efforts of CFD and last year alone 16
states were represented.
